Thanksgiving Giveaway Part 2

There were 122 families that received Thanksgiving Help from South Side Baptist Inner City Missions.  The night was able to be pulled off with 31 members of South Side Baptist Church, 12 members of Piner Baptist Church and 7 members from Highland Hills Baptist Church.  The night included a time of sign in, a worship service, and then passing out chickens/turkeys, non-perishables, bread, and New Testaments.  Everyone that attended clearly knew that the reason they were being helped was because of our love for Jesus.  Our prayer is that not only were those that attended helped physically, but also spiritually.

As always, it was amazing to watch God at work.

Thanks to everyone who helped on the night of the giveaway and by helping to provide food and money.

Thanksgiving Giveaway

Tonight we will be reaching out to 137 families through our Thanksgiving Giveaway.  We are sharing bags of food, turkeys, chickens, bread, and bibles with the families.  There is a worship service held to help each person understand the reason we give these items.  Our desire is to not only provide for their physical need, but also their spiritual need.  Please pray for the volunteers as they share.  Pray also for the families that are reached, that they will understand what they can be most thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Baskets to Shut Ins and Elderly Pictures

Today we made 22 visits to shut-ins and elderly.  We read Psalm 100, sang songs, shared a gift basket, and shared a hand made card.  We ended our day at the South Side playground.  Below are some pictures I believe you will enjoy.

We only have one of the groups shown doing the visitation.  Have to get more picutres.

We ended a little early so the kids had fun in the playground.

GREAT DAY!!!

Thanksgiving Baskets to Shut Ins and Elderly

Today we will be going to pass out baskets to some shut-ins and elderly.  The kids will be sharing gifts, songs, scripture, prayer and more with those we visit with.  We have 22 cards to make, a lunch at Frisch's, 22 visits to make and then our day will be complete.  My prayer is that each person we visit will be able to experience joy and the love of God while we are visiting.

Thanksgiving Meal

Last night Hiding Place and Youth Night took part in a Thanksgiving Meal with South Side Baptist Church.  Food, singing, and fellowship was had by all.  We had a great time.  We had 56 kids and youth in attendance last night.  It was a busy night, but a great night.

Giving Back Project at Goodwill Village Apts with Kicks for Kids

The kids that get to participate in Kicks for Kids Christmas Celebration went to Goodwill Village Apartment to reach out to the residents of that facility.  We made crafts both with and for the residents and provided snacks for them.  The kids got to meet their adult that will be helping them at the Christmas Event.  Everyone had a great time.

The kids made me proud.

Game Show Night at the MAC

Last night we had between 50 and 60 people come for a night of food, games, prizes, fellowship and more.   The night went great.  We played some Jeopardy with the categories of the MAC, Toys, Covington Facts, Ministries/Social Agencies, and the Bible.  Erica and her daughter, Hannah, came out as the winners.  Then we played lets make a deal.  We had people rushing to find items so that they could come up and sing songs, hula hoop, give away a kiss on the cheek (my dad gave me a kiss on the cheek), bubbles were blown, and more.  Prizes were given out for their hard work - some nice and some just funny.  We had a volunteer family come to help with the event:  Pastor Tony from Piner Baptist Church, his wife Johnnie and their daughter Hannah - thanks you all.  We had a great time.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Sign-up Part 2

On Thursday and Friday we signed up 147 families for Thanksgiving and Christmas help.  Thankfully with the people signing up we also have people calling to see what they can do to help.  I know that God will provide for those we have signed up this year.  Pray that we can not only reach the physical needs of the families, but also the spiritual needs.

My thanks goes out to Yevanna for helping me get people signed up.  Thanks to Bro. Dave, Marie, Phyllis, Louise, and Danny for helping direct people during the sign up.  Thanks to Sarah for helping to type up the needed information.  And thanks to God for helping things run smoothly.

Isn't God Good - All the Time.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Sign-up

Today was our first day for Thanksgiving and Christmas Sign-up.  We had 75 families sign up today. I am sure we will have more tomorrow.  Not sure how many we will have, but I know that the God we serve will provide.  Pray as we minister that people will know why we do what we do.
